Here is information on the Feldman’s Loop trail and on Isle Royale in general. I found it difficult to find information on this trail, so hopefully this will aid in planning for your journey. Our trip was in July 2026.

Tips from the trail:
Clockwise/Counter Clockwise.
Campsites: When researching this trail, there were different opinions on hiking clockwise or counter clockwise on Feldman’s Loop. I’m very happy with our choice to go counter clockwise. First, Feldman’s Lake Campsite turned out to be the one with the least “amenities” during the trip. It has an outhouse, group camping plots and individual camping plots as well as a water source (which is the lake). We had everything we needed and were very happy to be there, but each campsite kept getting better and better as we traveled along. Siskiwit Bay has an amazing, large concrete dock with picnic tables which made it a great place to eat and hang out post hike. Washington Creek has 16 shelters, which gave us a break from putting our tent up for one night.
Trail Conditions: The most difficult part of the trail was the middle 10 miles due to the rugged-ness of the trails. High
Animals
The best part of hiking Feldman’s Loop was getting to see moose activity. When we went.
